What Are Little Girls Made Of

Vicbowin is sick today. She woke up and said no thanks to breakfast, that's what tipped us off. So she gets to stay home and lay on the couch and be sick.

Albowin watched from the kitchen as I talked to her about how she was feeling. Five minutes later he announced that his tummy hurt. I was the mean mom and made him go to school.
(I'm confident he'll forget about the tummy ache).

Iyawin is excited to have his sister home and is enjoying watching episodes of Rainbow Brite with her on YouTube. I think they are both wrapped together under the jean quilt (blankets are one of the best perks of Winter).

Remewin is getting her first tooth so she is a grump. Here's the funny part though... it's not a front tooth. It's the pointy one third back from the front tooth. I almost didn't catch it when I went to inspect. Poor thing. I always feel bad for them when they teeth. She has been sleeping incredible amounts of time. The last two nights I have put her down for a nap at about 5PM and she has slept all night, only waking to eat.

Yesterday I had the funniest experience with the Mischievite. We were playing hide and seek together (one of my favorite games to play with him) and he was 'it'. Now when Iyawin is 'it' he always counts as high as he can go... which is three. In other words you have to haul it if you want to find a hiding spot at all.

So he turned to face the wall and I booked it around the corner and into the kitchen.

"Three!" He hollers, "Wedi oh not, hewe I come."

I was standing in the middle of the kitchen looking around frantically for something remotely useful. Iyawin came running around the corner and I did the only thing I could think to do (to make him smile... not because I thought it would work) I covered my eyes with my hands.

Through my fingers I saw the Mischievite walk up to me. He stood below me with a twinkle in his eye and giggled.

"Hmm, whewe is Mommy?" He intoned. "Is she in hewe?"

He opened a drawer. I stifled a laugh.

"No-o-o." He walked to the refrigerator, "Is she in hewe?"

My body began shaking with the effort to contain myself.

"No-o-o." He walked into the living room. "Is she in hewe? No-o-o."

Then I heard the pitter patter of his bare feet running across the linoleum towards me.

"There she is!" He exclaimed, acting surprised and pointing at me.

I laughed and scooped him up. Ruefully admitting to myself that I was going to need a new tactic of 'looking' for Iyawin, clearly he's figured out the one I'd been using.

Oh, that is so funny! My kids love to do something like that, only they hide under blankets. :)
