Summer Morning

I stayed in bed this morning waiting for Ralexwin to get home from his run. I dozed in and out of sleep wondering if I would be sleeping better if the Mischievite would stop harassing me about 'watching a moovee.'

Finally I was forced out of bed by Remewin's supplications for nourishment.

The sky was still dark outside and I wondered, sadly, how early I was rising. So I checked the clock before going to her room.

8:30

I stood there slightly shocked and finally recognized the sound of rain outside...it was overcast.

Ralexwin was already at work and I had absolutely no recollection of him leaving.

The kids were all in the family room staring at various screens.

I was still wishing I could go back to bed. 8:30?

It's an hour later now and I'm still in my bathrobe. I still feel like it should be 7AM, but I have to get up now and clean because the house is a mess (per the usual) and it needs some serious attention.

My mom used to tell me that when the Lord said "...ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:29) He must have meant we'd be able to get some sleep after we died.

I think I'm inclined to agree with her.

I hate mornings like that. Sometimes I will stay up late to clean so that I don't have to wake up to have to clean.

That is so Mom's humor. :) I have my kids asking, "What's so funny, Mommy? Why are you laughing?" It's a mom joke guys - you won't get it until you've got a few years of parenting under your belts. :)

It WAS really dark this morning. Gretel woke and after feeding her I went back to bed and looked at the clock....it was 7:00am. I thought it more like 5:00am. Of course 30 min. later the other kids were up bugging me. I dozed off and on while laying on the couch. It's hard to sleep though when you have 3 kids speaking to you or fighting every few minutes.
