bell hooks and me

“I will not have my life narrowed down. I will not bow down to somebody else's whim or to someone else's ignorance.” -bell hooks

I got remarried.
My family wasn't there.
My family hasn't met her.

My children adore her.
My friends adore her.
I love her.

I am happy.
I yell less.
I work harder.
I smile longer.
I breathe easier.

Some call it wrong.
Some call it immoral.
Some call it gross.
I call it happiness.

I don't care what some say.

Hey, girl. I never wanted to lose touch with you, but I didn't get added to your post-apocalyptic blog roll...so I'm glad you came back here for a minute.

Congratulations on your marriage...did you get married during Utah's moment of clarity or did you have to cross the border? Or are you even still living in that hell hole, er, I mean state? I think you and I have grown in a similar direction the past few years though my growth hasn't been outwardly apparent. The most important thing for you to know is that I am a full-on straight ally, registered with Affirmation and everything. I am so glad to know you are well and happy...we miss you and your kids and think of you often. Please send me an update and pix if you get a minute. Jamiemelin@msn.com...love to you & yours (tell Boston HI from Addie)

pretty nice blog, following :)

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Marianne Williamson

We are women of a God who delights in his daughters feeling beautiful and adored. Whatever that is to you personally, don't let it go undone. It is in you safe and warm and no one can take that away from you...no one. --Nie Nie
