Quick Thoughts

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

One of my favorite quotes that MLK Jr. said is:
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
Martin Luther King Jr is one of my all time favorite heroes. Did you know that he was  hand picked by the black community to lead the movement?

In the corner of one of my books (Writings and Speeches that Changed the World) Ralexwin has written: "By the age of 39- 3 bombings, 1 knifing, innumerable arrests, and assassination.--that's a rough life."

Vicbowin had to memorize part of his "I Have a Dream" speech in school this last week, she learned, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they are not judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character."

I think my above statement is a little inaccurate... I don't think MLK was had picked by the black community, I think he was hand picked by God.

Happy MLK Day. Remember to enjoy your freedom today.
