Extra Saturday Craft!

All the kids are outside playing (excepting Remewin of course) and I thought I'd post an extra craft I came up with this last week. I'm totally excited about this one because it is ALL mine. No links to other cute crafters who made the same thing, nope I made this one up.

They say 'Necessity is the mother of all invention' well, this is it for me. After Easter came and went I ended up with these little tins floating around the house (each one the size of a CD) they had originally held a cookie each but within a day all that was left was the tins.

I hated the idea of just throwing them away so I started mulling over what I could do with them.

This is what I came up with:

(really bad picture)

The cost was for the spray paint.

I put it over my dresser in my bedroom. The best part of it is that it's magnetic! Which makes it great for leaving little notes on.

I don't know what to call it, maybe magnetic wall art or circle-magnetic dresser topper :).
First I nailed the tins onto the wood, then I cut out circles to fit inside each one. I wasn't sure if mod-podge would work with metal, but I guess it does.

Now I can use my super fun, super cute, super easy magnets in my room. You ready for them?
Okay, go down to Wal-Mart (in the crafting section, I swear they're there... just look HARD) and find the super strong magnets. They come in a package of 4 for $4 (expensive I know). Then come home, rummage around your house for cute things to hot glue on and have at it.

I used bottle caps and foreign coins (namely Iraqi Dinar and English Pounds since that's what I had). HUGE NOTE: When hot gluing a strong magnet to something magnetic remember that they WILL pull towards each other.
O-->hot glue<--O
(not fun to get your finger caught in--believe me... I now know)

So be careful.

Have a good weekend everyone. :)
