Sleepy Mommies Make Good Door Stops

Remewin has been in a MOOD lately. We can't decide if she is teething or going through a growth spurt or what, but she will not sleep. She takes these power naps of about 1/2 an hour and then grumbles & whines for the rest of the day.

Last night it took me 3 hours to get her to fall asleep. 3 hours! I did everything I could think of and yet when I put her in her bed she'd start screaming like I'd just chopped off her leg. So I just sat playing on my computer with her wrapped in the other arm. (Ralexwin wasn't home, so he couldn't take her... obviously).

Finally around 10P I got her to sleep and I promptly crashed on my own bed (restless babies make for tired mommies).

At some point during the night--possibly around 3AM--she woke up crying. Ralexwin was asleep next to me--which surprised me because I had no recollection of him coming home--and the house was dark. I was disoriented and confused which was only exacerbated by me being on the wrong side of the bed. I sat up, trying to get my bearings, but Remewin was threatening to wake up her siblings so I pulled myself to standing and shuffled towards her room.

As I neared the entrance to my own room my mind sluggishly noticed that it was particularly dark in the hallway, but I was to drowsy to process anything more about the abnormality. I fumbled forward searching for the hallway light when the most unexpected thing happened.

I walked into the door!

Ralexwin had closed the bedroom door when he'd come in and my dozing mind had interpreted it as a lack of light.

Have you ever walked full force into a door? It's not fun.

My loving husband sat up in bed and asked (slightly abashed), "Are you okay!?"

Still not quite awake (I was having problems with that last night) I mumbled something and then said, "Hello door, nice to see you here."

Needless to say it didn't bode well for the rest of the night. Remewin refused to go back to sleep, and instead cried in her crib for another 10-15 minutes. Then Albowin woke me up this morning (at 5AM) when he decided to shove his car collection off the top bunk onto the hardwood floor below.

This morning I am sore and groggy and my Remewin is still not sleeping. I think it's a good day for an outing and some chocolate... don't you?

Face it Cannwin, you will never sleep in until your youngest is old enough to get up and feed himself breakfast.

I did the math recently. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in 3 1/2 years. Seriously.

Makes me a little mad.

The husband can sleep through anything. Unfair.

Only you, sweetie, would make a smart comment like that when you are mostly asleep!
