Cannwin Prompt: Burnt Pockets

Today I decided to use one of my own prompts, how convenient for me.

I frivolously and repeatedly spend money on ...... pajamas.

I can't help myself! When I go to the mall with a little cash I inevitably end up with a pair of pajamas. I love pajamas.

And I'm indiscriminate, I have pajamas from Wal-Mart,Target, Old Navy, Fredrick's of Hollywood AND Victoria's Secret. I've even been known to wear them as regular apparel.

I'm sure some people are rational about things like sleep-wear, but I'm not. They are so cute, with all the color and lace, and they are sooooo comfortable. Who can pass them up!?

The real clincher though, is I rarely wear them to sleep in (I'm more of a tee-shirt sleeper). I know, I know. Why buy pajamas if you don't even use them properly?

The answer is... I don't have an answer. I just like them.

I use excuses to get them too. Like when we first accepted house-renters I told Ralexwin that the reason I bought a new pair of pajamas was because I needed something to lounge around in. It was a lousy excuse and he knew it, but he just rolled his eyes and walked away.

What could he say? He knows my addiction.

The reality is that I'm so bad I have to steer clear of the sleep-wear section in stores. If I don't it's like a fly to honey... I find myself drawn in, lured by the promise of snuggly house-clothes.

Off the top of my head I can tell you that I have at least six pairs and I'm sure there's more.

I have more pajama pants than I do jeans.

It's ridiculous really. I'll go shopping for nice clothes and come home with at least one pair of P.J.s in the mix.

So there, now you know... it's official: I'm weird.

At least it is PJ's and not something like cars. It saves lots of money when you have a small obsession rather than some others....electronics!

Altered Shoe Art: Ring Holder Shoe Tutorial

This was my week two craft for So You Think You're Crafty. I placed third that week for this one. I thought you might enjoy finding out how I made it. I tried about a million different decorations before settling on one that didn't drown out my rings. I wanted them to the focal point. This is also why I went with black fabric and not something more vivid. Don't be intimidated by the lack of 101 I'm giving you. It really is a straight forward sort of project. If you know how to use a glue gun without burning yourself you can do this. Just be sure to dust off your imaginative brain space first. :) The one important thing you might be wondering is how I got the pink fabric to stick to the shoe. I really just Mod Podged it on. There are several different ways to make ring tubes that you can find online. One I saw used that colored foam paper stuff that you find in the kids craft section.
