Shattered

Yesterday I lost three glasses from the same set. Three glasses in one day!

That has to be some sort of record, because in all my adult years I've never seen that many cups meet their demise in one 24 hour period.

One of them just had to be tossed because it had a large crack running down the side, but the other two were the work of a certain oldest child and her propensity to stack the cups she's carrying.

The funny thing is that I was just saying to a friend of mine how much I wished I could change out my dinnerware for some other colors.

Irony much?

Of course I can't afford to switch out all my bowls and glasses, so the Fates deemed it in their best interest to force me.

Except the Fates didn't take into consideration the plain fact that I can't afford to.

I guess it's time for some more recycled canning jars.

But if I had my way I'd buy a deep dark purple.

On another note, today is that same oldest child's birthday. It's her last single digit year and I'm, as always, super sad about it... children shouldn't be allowed to grow up.

we break cups all the time, so I have been buying the unbreakable plastic ones. Makes me feel safer and sane somehow;) AND we often use canning jars.

My aunt used yogut cups.

Such is the life of a mother!

Tell her Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!
Yes well I have the same issue only with plates.
Jax tried to stack them one day and 5 tumbled from their spot in the cupboard (on top of the bowls) and shattered on impact of the counter top. So now we have 4 plates -
