To Be Human Again

As many of you may already know, my dear Ralexwin is in law school. Now I know about the stereotypes (like on seriously-so-blessed) that say I should be brimming with joy at this time of our lives and glowing with the potential jobs my husband may be able to line up--but let's talk reality here. Law school is expensive.

Very expensive.

So where does that  money come from? It comes from sacrificing of those things that may be wanted but not needed (and loans... lots and lots of loans). Wanted things like new clothes, new blankets, new carpeting, which are all things you think you need but in reality can survive without.

We're on our last year now (only one semester left) and you know what I want to do the second we have money coming in?

I want a hair cut. A nice, well  executed hair cut. It's been so long that I can barely remember the feel of all this thick, heavy hair falling to the ground around me.

I can't wait for the day that I can lay back and have someone wash my hair out before they run that wonderful comb through this half dead rats nest. I can't wait for them to chop! chop! chop!

I want my hair to look like this:
Or this:
Or this:

Then I'm going to go get some hair dye and I'm going to cover up all these dang gray streaks that have started to crop up (not to mention the blah color my hair has taken on). I want it to be the color of dark mahogany.

I want to look like this again:

Instead of this:
(I'm the one on the left)

Now, with that being said I don't want anyone thinking that I'm not perfectly okay with where we are. I am excited to watch Ralexwin learn and grow. I'm just also looking forward to being human again.

I know what you mean about the hair cut. I love, love having my hair washed by someone else. I usually spent around $13 at Great Clips. They do a pretty good job, but it would be nice to be able to get professional highlights!

If I could have one thing right now, it would be a cut and color. Sigh.

I have EXTREMELY thick hair and it's impossible to maintain. I totally sympathize with you Cannwin. I can't wait to have a haircut!

I love the haircuts you show. That's exactly the kind of thing I like and makes my husband shudder in horror. LOL

I want a hair cut too only I'm way too cheap to pay someone to just chop it off. It's thin and brittle which makes it annoying against the skin. I keep putting it off, but any day I'm going to pick up my large sewing shears, go into the bathroom and snip it up to my shoulders. When my husband comes home (after wiping away the foam - he loves my long hair) he'll trim it and make it even. The curls will hide the rest. I was going to wait 'till my hair turned grey to dye it red again (or pink for the first time), but as half my hair has fallen out this past year and it's getting thin I'm thinking it might be prudent to dye now because I'll probably end up wigging sooner than latter (definitely pink!)...unless it starts to grow back. It's a blessing to have hair to cut!!!

I actually splurged and got a decent cut and color not long ago... but with this pregnancy it grew out in like a week. Grr. Good luck with this last semester!
