I Secretly Hate the Current Fashion Trend of:

Okay, let’s be honest here. I just can’t narrow it down to one.

PhotobucketHere’s my personal opinion. Shoulder pads, neon, and parachute pants are three things that died and should have stayed dead. Period. End of story.

Now that we’ve got that cleared up, I’ll say: I am not a fan of ankle boots.

Ironically, I owned a pair in 5th grade, and I thought I was pretty hot stuff.
But back then I also thought that wearing spandex under short, shorts was cool,
So I rest my case.

There, that’s finally off my chest.

I hate the fashion trends that show tons of skin. That's all I'll say on that.

But there's a weird trend going on here at my college- there's these feathers that you can put in your hair and it stays there for however long you want, and you can wash it and braid it and whatever. It's one of those fads that exploded here, and everyone is doing it (except me). It's kind of weird. Feathers? Who knew?

The trend I don't like that's back is leggings! Why does everyone think look great in leggings? I think that is a trend for ONLY little girls, high school, 1st year collage students. That is something you would expect them to wear but anyone older I think they look STUPID!!! And the feather hair extensions thing that is popular here in phoenix as well I don't like it much but I don't much like the tinsel hair extensions either I think it looks like you had a run in with a Christmas tree. I think those are also fads for only the young female. And what Ashy said about the trend to shows tons of skin I don't like it either. I am woman and I think it's very awkward trying to talk to another woman when she's practically naked! I know they think 'what's the big deal We're all woman but I don't care I don't want to see you mostly naked it's weird!!!
What I do like is the diversity in trends right now. So if you don't like one trend there are many more to choose from.

Altered Shoe Art: Ring Holder Shoe Tutorial

This was my week two craft for So You Think You're Crafty. I placed third that week for this one. I thought you might enjoy finding out how I made it. I tried about a million different decorations before settling on one that didn't drown out my rings. I wanted them to the focal point. This is also why I went with black fabric and not something more vivid. Don't be intimidated by the lack of 101 I'm giving you. It really is a straight forward sort of project. If you know how to use a glue gun without burning yourself you can do this. Just be sure to dust off your imaginative brain space first. :) The one important thing you might be wondering is how I got the pink fabric to stick to the shoe. I really just Mod Podged it on. There are several different ways to make ring tubes that you can find online. One I saw used that colored foam paper stuff that you find in the kids craft section. But does it matter if the world remembers you?  Age begins to press its hands upon your chest and the need to be remembered seems to increase with the pressure.  Stop. That's not a line of thought you're interested in pursuing.  Live in the now. Does it matter if the world remembers you if your neighbor is going hungry?  Perhaps age is merely pushing you out the door.  Go. Live in the now.
