Three for Thursday

This post is brought to by the fabulous Evelyn @ Hanging by a Silver Lining who gave me all the prompting I needed for one dry day.

Three confessions:
1. I am 90% ornery and am typically in a bad mood. I hate this about myself, it makes me mad. :)

2. I don't floss.

3. I let my babies diaper get completely full before I change it.

Three things I do to beat the heat:
1. Cold showers.

2. Cold water on my face.

3. Change clothes 4 times  day.

Three lessons, skills, or new tricks I have learned this past month:
1. How to make digital glitter. (see yesterdays post)

2. It's never a good idea to lose your temper with your children at the grocery store.

3. It doesn't matter how many 'prince' outfits I make the Mischievite, he'll still wear my dresses.

Three things that motivate me to be a better person:
1. “'What do you fear my lady?'

'A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them and all chance of valor has gone beyond beyond recall or desire.'” -Eowyn and Aragorn, Lord of the Rings

2. Oh, that I could go, yet stay, Have tomorrow; keep today. Cherish, hold my yesterday.
My yesterday, now treasured dear, was once tomorrow, seen with fear - Kimber Orson Ricks

3. "To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming is the only end to life." -Robert Louis Stevenson

Three things I would do if I wasn’t “Mommy”, married, and burdened with cares:
1. Travel

2. I think I'd love to be an expert in religions.

3. Live in a cute apartment above some cute little shop in some cute little downtown area.

Three people I call first:
In order:
1. My husband.

2. My older sister.

3. My mom.

Three things I changed about my parenting after testing them out on my guinea pig child (first child):
1. I stopped teaching them how to read at 3 years old. Too much work.

2. I gave up on worrying about that bottle.

3. I learned to potty train later.

Three things that make me cry:
1. Anything to do with soldiers. ie letters home, widowed spouses, touching reunions

2. My kids talking back to me.

3. Late nights.... I break down if I don't get enough sleep--like sobbing tears and complete incoherence.

Three things I’m going to accomplish before the summer is over:
1. Surviving

2. Surviving

3. Surviving

Your first confession makes me laugh. So funny.

Your #1 on things that make you cry reminds me of something I wanted to do on the 4th... and some other times too... but I've never done it because I'm always afraid that I won't get out of my mouth (or hands) what I have in my head and it will sound stupid and trite. So right from the start I just want to say that if it sounds that way forgive me and know that i'm sincere.

THANK YOU! for your sacrifice, for enduring this difficult move, for having endured a deployment and all the challenges that brings, especially with 2 little kids on top of it. Thank you for supporting Relaxwin in this even when it's so hard for you. And THANK YOU Relaxwin, for your service and dedication to our country. You are so honest and hard-working, exactly the kind of person I would want to represent our country. Sometimes I still think you should go into politics but I wouldn't wish that on anyone and our country needs a good honest lawyers. THANKS TO YOU BEAUTIFUL FAMILY FOR YOU SERVICE TO ALL THE REST OF US.

I always love a great list! To beat the heat I let the AC roar and lay [lie? I never know] under the ceiling fan. It helps to say indoors and imagine that the cloud cover = coolness. But you have to stay inside for that to work.

I totally agree with the 3 things I changed about parenting! I found those things out really quickly!
And new mothers or mothers that really want to do everything so perfectly think I'm a few cards short of a full deck when I say who cares if you breast feed or bottle feed the whole point is to get food into your child! or who cares if your child can't read they will learn it in school they all generally catch up to each other by 1st grade weather they started early or not. And I always tell mom's not to potty train till your child is at least 3 years old or your just making it hard on yourself.
I Love your list
Testing, testing...Is this thing on?? Did it work?
