True Me Tuesday: Hair

Yesterday I saw this tutorial on how to do your hair in a bun using a sock. It looked pretty easy, so I thought "Hey, I want to try that!"

Well, it didn't go so well--which shouldn't surprise me.

I once had this piano teacher that told me I had a natural ability. I think he was wrong, because my fingers are like fat, frozen sausages... all numb and chubby.

Or maybe it's just my stupid hair. Stubborn and straight and too thick for it's own good.

I just can't do it! I am a 30 year old woman with no knack for doing my own hair.

It's too bad I can't just stick with doing little girls hair... I seem to be able to manage that.

I am also terrible at doing my own hair. I have a hard time making myself take the time to try anymore.

I thought that your second bun looked good, not the same as the one you were trying for but still very nice. I don't know if that comes out sounding like a compliment but that is how I mean it.

I think you did a pretty good job on your hair. What do you use the sock for? Is it to do rag curls or something.

This is so me! I swear I still do my hair exactly the same as when I was in High School! I'm so pleased I have boys, I don't have to worry about their hair!

This was my week two craft for So You Think You're Crafty. I placed third that week for this one. I thought you might enjoy finding out how I made it. I tried about a million different decorations before settling on one that didn't drown out my rings. I wanted them to the focal point. This is also why I went with black fabric and not something more vivid. Don't be intimidated by the lack of 101 I'm giving you. It really is a straight forward sort of project. If you know how to use a glue gun without burning yourself you can do this. Just be sure to dust off your imaginative brain space first. :) The one important thing you might be wondering is how I got the pink fabric to stick to the shoe. I really just Mod Podged it on. But does it matter if the world remembers you?  Age begins to press its hands upon your chest and the need to be remembered seems to increase with the pressure.  Stop.
