The Never Ending Month

The kids have a late start today (10AM).

Every weekend this month has been a 4 days long.

No one can go outside, or even wants to. The house is in chaos, the kids are grumpy and I only got dressed today because Remewin has a Dr.'s appointment.

This month will not end!



So in an attempt to help January along, I am making a list of tasks to be accomplished today.
(in no particular order)

1. Take Remewin's social security number down to the insurance office. (2 months late)
2. Groceries are a possibility depending on mood of Iyawin.
3. Do some laundry... at least take laundry downstairs.
4. Go through pile of magazines on my couch.
5. Clean family room.
6. Brush teeth.
7. Fold the myriad of blankets that have been pulled out of closet.
8. Make dinner.
9. See that the house is properly heated today... ie make a fire.
10. Make sure Iyawin wears some real clothes and not just his pajamas.
11. Breathe in and enjoy the day.

It's a shame you picked today to bump into my blog. After a month of repetitive snow days I'm feeling a little insane. Come back again and see what else I've got, I'm confident you'll enjoy. :)

Altered Shoe Art: Ring Holder Shoe Tutorial

This was my week two craft for So You Think You're Crafty. I placed third that week for this one. I thought you might enjoy finding out how I made it. I tried about a million different decorations before settling on one that didn't drown out my rings. I wanted them to the focal point. This is also why I went with black fabric and not something more vivid. Don't be intimidated by the lack of 101 I'm giving you. It really is a straight forward sort of project. If you know how to use a glue gun without burning yourself you can do this. Just be sure to dust off your imaginative brain space first. :) The one important thing you might be wondering is how I got the pink fabric to stick to the shoe. I really just Mod Podged it on. There are several different ways to make ring tubes that you can find online. One I saw used that colored foam paper stuff that you find in the kids craft section. But does it matter if the world remembers you?  Age begins to press its hands upon your chest and the need to be remembered seems to increase with the pressure.  Stop.
